Education background:
Mechanical engineering

Level of thesis project:
Master Thesis

Number of students in the project:
One or two students/project.

Target:
This project involves investigating different solutions to our articulated steering. Today, the “waist” in a machine is ridden with plates and welds and our belief is that there are cheaper and more structurally sound design solutions.

Background:
It has been brought up that the waist has low tolerances to be able to fit the axle. The waist does also involve many welds of plates. Historically, the design has been reinforced, but never actually optimized.

Mission:
Your task is to investigate different concepts and solution to the “waist” from a construction, cost-effective and structural standpoint. The project is considered a success when different solutions have been compared and analyzed.

Qualification:
Mechanical engineering and solid mechanics.

How to apply:
Does this sound interesting, and do you feel this is a match?
