We are now looking for two motivated engineering students to join our four‑week Summer Trainee Program at Surface R&D, Örebro — an opportunity to explore the world of product development in a global technology leader committed to innovation, sustainability, and inclusion.
Discover R&D From the Inside
During your traineeship, you will become part of an R&D environment driven by curiosity, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Your experience will be tailored to your interests and ongoing education and aligned with real development activities across our organization.
You Will Gain Hands‑On Exposure To:
- Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic design work within ongoing development projects
- FEA calculations, simulations, and verification support
- Mechatronics, automation, systems engineering and modern development methods
- Modularization and standardization concepts used to streamline global portfolios
- Insights into technical and main project management and how we execute complex new development projects
- Our commitment to safety, quality, resilience, and innovation in every development step
Learn by Working Alongside Our Experts
Your tasks will range from simpler, hands‑on engineering activities to shadowing specialists in their daily work. You’ll gain a comprehensive introduction to:
- How ideas grow into real, high‑performance products used around the world
- Our development processes, tools, cross‑functional interfaces, and product lifecycle thinking
- The culture that shapes Epiroc R&D: collaboration, psychological safety, inclusion, and a shared drive to deliver customer value

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome students who are:
- Currently studying in university, preferably within engineering field. Interest in technology and business.
- Curious, engaged, and eager to learn new tools and ways of working
- Comfortable collaborating with others and taking initiative
- Enthusiastic about real product development and modern engineering challenges
No previous industry experience is required — only passion and a growth mindset.
Program Details
- Duration: 4 weeks during summer 2026 (divided in following week: 24, 25, 26, 33, 34, 35) In total 160hrs.
- Location: Epiroc SRD R&D, Örebro, 100% on site
