The Supply Chain Logistics Coordinator plays a key tactical role within the CSC NASA Configuration Center (CFC) supporting the day-to-day execution of domestic logistics, shipping, and material movement activities that keep operations running smoothly. This position ensures that inbound and outbound shipments are handled accurately, materials are received and processed efficiently, and all documentation is completed in compliance with company and carrier standards.
Serving as the onsite point of contact for logistics execution and material movement, the Supply Chain Coordinator reports directly to the Akron Warehouse Team Lead and will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Technicians, Service Manager, and carrier partners to ensure shipments are labeled, loaded, and delivered correctly and on time. This role is critical to maintaining reliable material flow and on-time customer delivery within the Configuration Center.
Work Type: This position is onsite at the CSC NASA Configuration Center in Akron, OH. Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and office setting, with frequent physical activity and exposure to material handling equipment, trucks, and occasional outdoor conditions. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs, and safely operating or working around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (training provided). Safety equipment and adherence to all Epiroc safety protocols are required at all times. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
Logistic Execution
- Manage daily shipping and receiving activities for domestic freight, ensuring all inbound and outbound materials move efficiently through the facility.
- Schedule and coordinate shipments including LTL and flatbed carriers to meet customer and production requirements.
- Prepare and process Bills of Lading, packing slips, and carrier documentation accurately and on time.
- Verify that all shipments are properly labeled, stickered, and loaded onto trucks for delivery.
- Serve as the onsite point of contact for carriers, drivers, and logistics partners.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to local or regional deliveries.
- Coordinate domestic transfers and shipments with other Epiroc facilities as needed to support network-wide material flow.
Material Handling & Inventory Support
- Execute and verify all shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions within the ERP system (Infor M3) to maintain accurate data and traceability.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager, Service Manager and Warehouse Technicians to ensure inventory accuracy and efficient warehouse flow.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all domestic shipments comply with Epiroc policies and carrier requirements for labeling, packaging, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized shipping and receiving records for audit readiness.
- Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with Epiroc safety standards.
- Ensure materials are handled, stored, and shipped in compliance with internal safety guidelines and applicable transportation regulations (e.g., DOT).
- Collaborate with the customs and/or compliance team(s) on any shipments requiring export documentation or international coordination.
- Identify and recommend process improvements related to logistics efficiency, documentation, and material control.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report key performance indicators (e.g., on-time shipment rate, shipping accuracy, inventory discrepancies) to support operational performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and cost control.
- Provide feedback and ideas to improve warehouse layout, freight scheduling, and internal logistics flow.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate daily with the Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Team Lead, Warehouse Technicians, and Customer Care teams to align priorities and ensure material readiness.
- Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders regarding delays, delivery timing, or material shortages.
- Build collaborative working relationships across the CSC to ensure a seamless material flow from order receipt to customer delivery.
Knowledge/Education:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics coordination, shipping/receiving, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong working knowledge of domestic transportation methods (LTL, flatbed, freight forwarding) and shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, packing lists, labeling).
- Experience with ERP or logistics systems (Infor M3 preferred).
