As a Warehouse team member, your responsibilities may encompass tasks in various departments, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping. These duties involve handling all materials entering and leaving the plant or Distribution Center, adhering to company safety guidelines. They will ensure that the company business goals of growth, market share, profitability and superior customer satisfaction are met.

 

The work environment includes being regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds and is occasionally required to lift up to and in excess of 100 pounds. Work also involves climbing up to 4-6 feet using ladders or raising up to 50 feet using a powered industrial truck. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Personal Protection Equipment may be required in this role. The position is considered Safety Sensitive.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Will unload trucks and process receipts into MFG/Pro; verify quantity and other specifications; check for discrepancies in purchase order number or vendor packing list information.
  • Will stock and store in assigned or designated warehouse areas
  • Will load and secure a variety of company products (components or parts) for shipment by truck or designated carrier. Pack, wrap, box, crate and otherwise prepare for shipping. Cut, and secure strapping, tie-downs, bracing, chocks, and other support materials
  • Will operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts used to store or transport material to designated inside and outside storage areas
  • Will check material handling equipment, fork trucks, and storage facilities daily
  • Will follow and comply with all safety rules and report unsafe events or unsafe conditions to the appropriate leadership
  • Will maintain fuel, coolant, and lubricants in vehicle. If electric, ensure that batteries are fully charged at the beginning of the shift
  • Will be responsible for locating parts and completing needed documentation
  • Must demonstrate the ability work in a safe manner and follow prescribed safety regulations/guidelines
  • Perform other duties as required or directed

 

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED or equivalent required
  • Must have 1-2 years work experience in a warehouse or distribution center or a similar role in a warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Must be able to understand drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must have demonstrated understanding of parts lists, shop orders, and requisitions that may be needed to perform day-to-day tasks
  • Ability to read and understand drawing is preferred
  • Prior experience with forklifts is preferred
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must demonstrate the ability to take direction and prioritize work tasks
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
