Are you a detail-oriented finance professional ready to take on a leadership role? We're looking for a dedicated Chief Accountant to join our team in Mali. In this critical position, you will be the cornerstone of our financial operations, ensuring top-tier accounting and reporting quality. Your Mission: The Core Responsibilities

 

To ensure high quality Accounting to Reporting within the local Customer Centre supported by the Business Controller, with focus on reporting and financial analytical support to the operational teams within the business, you will:
  • Lead with Precision: Ensure all accounting and reporting processes are compliant with The Epiroc Way and meet Group Reporting deadlines.

  • Maintain Financial Integrity: Take full responsibility for local accounting and taxation compliance, including accounts review, working capital follow-up, and fixed asset management.

  • Optimize Cash Flow: Assist with cash management, including monthly forecasts and handling loan and deposit requests.

  • Ensure Compliance: Supervise local statutory and tax audits, reporting, and overall compliance.

  • Manage Data & Systems: Be in charge of maintaining accurate data across all finance applications like BPCS, SAPBW, and others.

  • Provide Expert Advice: Advise operational teams on tax matters, compliance, and regulations.

  • Strengthen Internal Controls: Actively participate in internal audits and control activities, helping to detect and address potential issues proactively.

  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with a regional finance team and other operational departments (Sales, Supply Chain, Service, HR) to achieve shared goals.

  • Support & Respond: Be the go-to person for all accounting and reporting inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support Business Development: Assist with bid preparations and financial pre-analyses for deals.

  • Organize & Preserve: Ensure all accounting documents, contracts, and legal records are meticulously archived.

 

Who We're Looking For

 

While the original job profile is a little short on specifics for skills and experience, a successful candidate for this role would likely have:

  • Relevant University degree in Accountancy

  • Solid Accounting experience, previous experience in a chief Accountant role is required.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a multinational organization/ a-chartered accounting firm will be an advantage.

  • Fluency in French and in English are key requirements.

  • Strong legal statutory and tax reporting knowledge and experience is required.

  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office (advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge is a must) and accounting systems.

  • Experience in working with AS 400, SAP BW, Consolidation Systems, SharePoint will be an advantage.
