SHEQ Officer

As a SHEQ Officer, you will champion world‑class Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards across all our operations. In this key role, you help protect people, safeguard assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen our culture of operational excellence. You will drive continuous improvement, support our teams on the ground, and contribute directly to Epiroc’s commitment to responsible and sustainable performance.

Your Mission

• Lead, implement, and maintain Epiroc’s Integrated Management System, ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Côte d’Ivoire national legislation, and internal Epiroc policies.
• Drive SHEQ governance through audits, inspections, and risk assessments across offices, warehouses, mining sites, and contractor operations—covering machinery safety, site‑specific procedures, and PPE standards.
• Strengthen SHEQ capability by designing and delivering training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for employees and contractors, with a strong focus on mining‑related risks.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, conduct root‑cause analysis, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions while ensuring timely closure and accurate reporting.
• Provide expert SHEQ support to site managers and teams, including guidance on legal appointments, operational compliance, equipment safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across the region.
• Manage SHEQ administration and external interfaces, including record-keeping (audits, inspections, training, incidents), sustainability statistics, and compliance oversight of third‑party service providers while contributing to regional SHEQ forums and cross‑country initiatives.

Your Profile:

• Master’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ SHEQ experience, including at least 2 years in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• NEBOSH certification (or equivalent) plus certification as an ISO 9001/45001/14001 lead implementer or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
• Fluency in French and working proficiency in English.
