Business Controller – Epiroc Innovation and Technology Center (EITC), India
Mission :
The mission of the EITC Business Controller is to ensure professional and effective business control which is key to the success of EITC Bangalore, and it’s Satellite Centers in Chennai and Hyderabad, including top notch financial performance, legal compliance, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the General Manager in business control by making financial plans, continuous analysis and control of the financial KPIs in line with Epiroc’s policies and standards, IFRS and the local statutory requirements
- Be pro-active and provide early warnings regarding significant deviations, potential risks and expected results, making sure that red flags are raised and action plans are put in place when/ where necessary
- Continuously scout for changes in policies, legislations, standards, business environment changes affecting the operations along with other Epiroc stakeholders as needed
- Support General Manager and work with EITC management team, Epiroc India management team, other stake holders as needed in ensuring EITC business model is effective and efficient
- Work closely with Regional Center of Excellence (RCoE) teams for Finance and HR, and safeguard that accounting, reporting, receipts, payments and compliances are handled effectively.
- Ensure that the receivables and payables are managed efficiently
- Ensure that all charges to and from other Epiroc units are complete, timely and accurate
- Handle the business partner management at EITC as per Group Policies and ensure that we procure the quality services at best cost. Ensure that the invoicing and payments are correct and timely.
- Handle audits and audit closures in an efficient manner
- Work with general manager, VP Controlling and Finance, and Epiroc India/divisional management as needed in reporting, reviews and closure of action items
- Pro-actively work with the investment process, review of fixed assets register and physical assets
- Work closely with Epiroc India RCoE, taxation team, compliance officer and local service tax authorities as needed and ensure that the tax/compliance related activities are handled in a prompt and efficient manner
- Work closely with Epiroc India RCoE, EITC HR, SHEQ and facilities responsible to make sure that we follow and fully comply to all the legal requirements
Experience requirements
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience on financial process flows and business control
- Proven track record of process development
- Good organizational skills and able to coordinate multiple activities whilst prioritizing work to meet specific deadlines.
Knowledge and skills
- Sound knowledge of financial accounting with analysis skills
- Fluency in English, spoken and written
- Sound knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks
- Experience of handling internal and external audits and effective collaboration skills
- Good written and oral communication
- Ability to drive automation and continuous improvement
- Attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Proficiency in one of the ERP systems
- Advanced working knowledge of MS-Excel
Educational requirements
University degree in Commerce along with Charted Accountant qualification
