About the Role

As a Project Engineer at Epiroc, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our heavy engineering product lines through innovative design and development. This position is integral to our Research & Development team, contributing directly to the creation and enhancement of structural designs and heavy machinery products that meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to transform concept designs into detailed engineering outputs that drive our business forward.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze input data and clarifications essential to project assignments.
  • Develop design concepts under guidance, utilizing 2D drawings and advanced 3D modeling techniques.
  • Perform comprehensive engineering calculations to validate design integrity and functionality.
  • Engage in rigorous self-review processes and present progress during internal design reviews.
  • Proactively suggest value additions and continuous improvement ideas related to product design, manufacturing methods, and material usage.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to address queries, provide updates, and handle feedback professionally.
  • Adhere strictly to company design procedures, standards, and project management protocols to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, uphold Epiroc’s core values including integrity and open global culture, and represent the company with professionalism.
  • Report progress and challenges to the Manager or Project Leader promptly and with clarity.

 

Candidate Profile and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will bring 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in engineering and product development within the heavy engineering sector.
  • Holding a BE/BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute with at least 70% or a 7.5 CGPA, you have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
  • Expertise in hydraulics, structural design, mechanism design, and engineering materials is essential.
  • You should possess a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including tolerance, finish specifications, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience with New Product Development processes, product maintenance, and engineering release cycles will be highly valued.
  • Proficiency in using Creo 9 for detailed design and Teamcenter PLM tools is required to efficiently manage design data and documentation.
