We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to contribute to our innovative product development efforts within the Corporate Units business area. About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of heavy machinery products. This role demands a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, strong analytical capabilities, and a hands-on approach to product design and improvement. Collaborating closely with senior colleagues, cross-functional teams, and customers, you will contribute to creating robust solutions that meet high-quality standards and operational requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect inputs and clarify technical requirements from various stakeholders, ensuring complete understanding before progressing with design work.
  • Develop design concepts, prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using Creo 9, and perform engineering calculations for validation purposes.
  • Conduct self-review of designs and present work for internal technical reviews, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Apply your knowledge to suggest value additions and process improvements that enhance product performance and manufacturability.
  • Engage with customers to address queries, incorporate feedback, and ensure customer satisfaction with design deliverables.
  • Adhere strictly to design procedures, standards, and company policies to maintain compliance and engineering excellence.
  • Effectively manage project timelines and deliverables by following internal project management guidelines and reporting proactively to the Project Manager or Team Leader.
  • Demonstrate Epiroc’s core values in integrity, collaboration, and openness by fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment.

 

Required Competences, Skills, and Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in engineering and product development within the heavy engineering sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE / BTech) from a reputable institute, with a minimum academic standard of 70% or 7.5 CGPA.
  • Basic yet solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, hydraulics, and engineering materials.
  • Practical understanding of structural design principles and the development of heavy machinery products.
  • Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals including theoretical calculations and validations essential for product integrity.
  • Familiarity with new product development methodologies, product maintenance processes, and the engineering release process.
  • Competence in mechanism design and analysis to develop innovative and effective solutions.
  • Good exposure to manufacturing methods, tolerance considerations, finish specifications, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with Creo 9 CAD software and PLM tools like Teamcenter for efficient design data management and collaboration.
