Position: Project Engineer


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Research and Development team within the Corporate Units of Epiroc Mining India Private Ltd, located in Bengaluru. This is a key role within the Technical Company segment, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects in the mining machinery and heavy engineering sectors.



About the Role:
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding project requirements, planning workflows, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions. You will engage in concept generation, structural design, engineering calculations, and component selection while liaising with customers and internal stakeholders to finalize design specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and analyze project inputs to develop clear and actionable plans for design and development.
  • Create innovative concepts supported by detailed engineering calculations and validations.
  • Perform structural designs focusing on welded structures, bolted joints, and related machine design principles.
  • Develop and prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software like Creo and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) changes through PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
  • Select appropriate components from suppliers, ensuring compatibility and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturing accuracy.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers and project stakeholders, promptly addressing inquiries and troubleshooting engineering issues.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment, sharing knowledge and fostering synergy.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, values, and the business code of practice.
  • Continuously seek professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to manufacturing processes, material selection, hydraulics, electrical systems, and new product development.


Required Competences, Skills, and Experience:

  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes and material selection techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles, engineering calculations, and validations.
  • Basic familiarity with hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Solid grasp of engineering basics such as strength of materials and machine design.
  • Practical experience with CAD and PLM software tools, preferably Creo and Teamcenter.
  • Good comprehension of the new product development lifecycle and engineering release processes.
  • Experience or background in the OEM, heavy engineering, or mining machinery domains is highly desirable.
