Job Description: This position is responsible for designing and maintaining high-voltage electrical systems (up to 1000VAC) for mining machines and associated equipment. The role involves control panel design, motor control systems, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
•Design and develop electrical systems for mining machines operating at 1000VAC.
•Oversee creation of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings for control panels.
•Provide technical guidance on motor control circuits for large high-voltage motors, including starters, VFDs, and protection systems.
•Supervise design and assembly of complex control panels for mining equipment.
•Ensure integration of PLCs, relays, contactors, and protective devices into advanced control systems.
•Drive adherence to IEC, IEEE, and mining industry standards.
•Implement advanced grounding, insulation, and arc-flash protection measures for high-voltage systems
•Experience of high voltage (up to 1200Vdc) electrical component integration, design & development on products, particularly HV & LV systems and sub systems.
•Experience in compliance engineering to external standards, such as battery handling, EMC, vehicle safety, functional safety
•Experience of working with HVDC components such as inverters, DC-DC converters and chargers.
•Experience in model-based development languages such as Matlab/Simulink
•Awareness of VA/VE techniques, cost reduction, optimization & feasibility verification
•Prepares project documentation and participates in design review at various design phases
•Co-ordinate with global R&D team for the projects & work independently.
•Performing\checking and approving design calculations as required
•Value addition and suggestions for improvements as applicable
**Open to travel to Sweden for long term to support at onsite for minimum 1 to 2years.
Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering (preferably in mining or heavy industrial equipment)
Tools: Teamcenter – PLM, AutoCAD Electrical, Creo, MATLAB Simulations
Education: Masters or bachelor’s in electrical and Electronics Engineering from a reputed institute
Competence:
•High-voltage motor control systems (1000VAC).
•Advanced control panel design and wiring.
•Knowledge of VFDs and soft starters for large motors.
•Electrical protection systems (overload, short circuit, earth fault).
•Deep understanding of safety standards and risk management for high-voltage systems
•Knowledge of PLC programming and automation systems
•Experience of diesel engine control and Battery Electric Vehicle controls
•To be able to make electrical diagrams with AutoCAD Electrical tool, knowledge and experience of Teamcenter is a plus.
•Knowledge in hydraulic system and drive trains.
