Job Title - Project Leader - HIL
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain HIL test setups for ECUs and control systems.
- Develop real-time plant models (electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, thermal where applicable) for HIL environments.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and fault-injection tests on HIL platforms.
- Support SIL-HIL-machine correlation activities and root cause analysis.
Verification & Validation:
- Derive test cases from system and software requirements.
- Create and maintain test specifications, procedures, and reports.
- Ensure requirement traceability between system requirements and test results.
- Support Design Verification Plan (DVP) activities across SIL, HIL, and component levels.
Tools & Platforms:
- Work with HIL systems such as dSPACE, NI, Vector VT, OPAL-RT, or equivalent.
- Use modelling and scripting tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python, CAPL/ CANoe or similar).
- Interface with CAN/LIN/Ethernet networks and diagnostic tools.
Collaboration & Stakeholders:
- Collaborate closely with system engineering, software, electrical, and mechanical teams.
- Work with global teams, including Örebro, Nashik, and other R&D centers.
- Support issue resolution during development, integration, and machine testing phases.
Quality & Safety:
- Contribute to quality assurance activities with awareness of ASPICE and functional safety concepts (ISO 26262 / ISO 13849 where applicable).
- Ensure compliance with internal engineering processes and safety standards.
Competences, skills and experience:
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or related engineering discipline.
- 8-15+ years of experience in embedded systems testing, HIL, or system-level verification.
- Strong understanding of:
- Embedded control systems and ECUs
- Sensors, actuators, and I/O interfaces
- CAN-based communication and diagnostics
- Hands-on experience with HIL platforms and test automation.
- Exposure to industrial, automotive, off-highway, or mining equipment systems.
Nice to Have
- Experience with mobile machinery, mining equipment, or heavy vehicles.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, or electrification systems.
- Experience working in global R&D setups and on-site machine testing.
- Prior assignment or collaboration with European R&D teams.
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certifications.
