Overview:
To design and develop electrification products for Mining machinery like Trucks, Loaders, Drill rigs etc. You will lead the mechanical design process, from concept generation to prototype testing and production implementation. In this role, you will be working very closely with our global team in various Battery pack, Charger and electrical Infrastructure Projects.
- Design, develop, and integrate mechanical and electrical components to create cohesive systems for both new product development and the improvement of existing products.
- Developing and reviewing design concepts and proposals.
- Possess strong skills in structural and weldment design.
- Work on PDM/PLM (Team Center) systems associated with engineering release processes.
- Maintain project documentation in accordance with ISO procedures.
- Ensure the quality of project delivery and the ISO process in the team.
- Create and update design guidelines, standards, and best practices for the mechanical design of battery packs and chargers.
- Proficient in applying ISO GPS standards in drawings.
- Keep stakeholders posted about project status from time to time.
- Performing internal design reviews.
- Execute and review design modifications, bill of materials updates, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
- Work with suppliers and vendors to source appropriate materials and components.
- Value addition and suggestions for improvements as applicable
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical issues during product development and production.
- Handling NPD & Product Maintenance projects.
- Interact with production team/supplier to resolve assembly/manufacturing issues.
- Train and Coach junior colleagues on CAD tools, Design tools (eg, DFMEA), products, applications, and technology
- Develop in-depth knowledge of at least one product line and be the go-to person for the product and application.
- Reporting to the Team Manager in a timely and efficient manner
- Complying with company policies and following company values and business code of practice

Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in mechanical structural design and product integration.
- Strong CAD and PLM expertise
- Hands-on experience in critical design. Ability to come up with solutions to meet the application requirements.
- Skilled in structural and weldment design

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering
|
|
Knowledge Requirement:
- Knowledge of mechanical Integration and structural design
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials selection, welding
- and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with industry-standard practices for design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Good knowledge of design and release process.
- Good knowledge on CAD tool / ISO GPS/ GD&T/ PLM system
- Heavy machinery product knowledge with focus on components and sub-systems
- Good project management knowledge
- Basic people management knowledge
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in guiding and mentoring juniors.
