Overview:
We are seeking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer (Structural integration) to join our team. As a Structural Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing structures for Mining machineries like Trucks, Loaders, Drill rigs etc. You develop the mechanical design process, from concept generation to prototype testing and production implementation.
Job Description:
- Design and develop of mechanical systems and component integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, thermal and control system team to develop innovative solutions.
- Perform feasibility studies and provide technical assessments to evaluate the suitability of different design concepts for various mining equipment applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define specifications, ensure manufacturability, and meet project goals.
- Conduct design reviews and Brainstorming sessions to evaluate concepts.
- Develop and maintain design guidelines, standards, and best practices for subsystem structural design.
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety requirements.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support the manufacturing and assembly of subsystems.
- Prepare engineering documents, including wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and bills of materials (BOM)
- Create and manage design validation reports and testing documentation
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment of project deliverables
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes
- Oversee prototype fabrication and testing, and analyze test data to identify design issues and implement necessary modifications
- Support the transition of designs from prototype to production, addressing any design-related issues and ensuring smooth production ramp-up
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in battery pack design, and apply them to enhance product performance and efficiency
- Good experience in integration and packaging activities

Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and development, with structural design and integration.

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Knowledge Requirement:
- Excellent understanding of GD&T
- Good understanding of Team Centre and BOM release process
- Excellent understanding of sheet metal design and welding techniques
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes. Attention to detail, with a focus on producing high-quality designs and documentation.
- Familiarity with industry-standard practices for design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CREO, or similar) and experience with PLM engineering tools (e.g., Teamcenter, or similar)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Having an understanding of structural simulation is beneficial.
