Senior Project Leader

Position: Sr. Project leader – ADS Blast hole drill rig

Reporting to: Business Line Manager - Engineering Services

Location: Bengaluru

Job description

• Design responsibility of the complete Blast hole Drilling Rigs used in Open cast Mines. This includes all the mechanical design and also overseeing the Hydraulic and other sub-assemblies in the machine.

• Carry out necessary manual calculation and sizing of drives Systems like under carriage, Feed, Rotation etc. Knowledge on, hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves is desirable.

• Interact with vendor/supplier to select suitable components to meet the product requirement.

• Apply knowledge in integrating various subassemblies in the machine.

• Coordinate with Automation (software development) team for programs and hardware as and when required.

• Participate/drive technical reviews to validate the designs.

• Mentor the engineers working on Design of Blast hole Drilling Rigs and ensure efficient and cost effective designs.

• Ensure that the designs comply with the requirements of relevant standards used in drilling rigs.

• Travel to Epiroc production units and sites as needed during assembly and testing for verification and technical support.

• Analyse the field issues and offer suitable solutions to fix the same.

• Continuous improvement of various sub system used in the Drilling Rigs with latest technological advancements.

• Ensure that the complete machine design competence level in the team improves in a continuous way.

• Report to the Manager in a timely and efficient manner, providing updates on project status and milestones.

• Adhere to company policies and uphold the organization's values and business code of practice, promoting a culture of integrity and professionalism.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 13 years in Earthmoving Machines design, preferably in Blast hole drilling rig design. Experience in a new product development environment in mining or construction segment.

• Knowledge on Structural design and analysis is preferable

• Experience in Hydraulic systems and automation & control (Sensors, controllers, network systems) will be an added advantage.

Knowledge requirements

• Good understanding of the operation and application knowledge of Blast hole drilling rigs.

• In-depth knowledge on Structural design of major components like, under carriage, main frame and tower on the rigs.

• Should have a very good capability to analyse customer requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.

• Knowledge on standards like SAE, EN16228 and CE certification processes is desirable.

• Expert in Knowledge of CADD Tools & PLM.

• General understanding on control systems hardware and software.

Educational Qualifications:

· Masters or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute
