Position: Simulation Engineer – Powertrain controls
Team/Division: URE, EITC
Job Description
•Powertrain system design & integration for Underground Mining Equipment Loaders, trucks.
•Powertrain components selection and its integration [e-Transmission, traction motor & inverter] implementation strategies.
•Create, document, and maintain detailed control function specifications as per requirement.
•Define and manage powertrain control systems within the overall vehicle control architecture.
•Lead cross-functional teams (controls, software, hardware, systems) to design, implement, and validate powertrain control systems.
• Able to read and understand MTLAB/Simulink model
• Developing Simulink model & Matlab code for Power train control system
• Define and manage GUI parameters for powertrain control system interfaces.
• Onsite support during software development, proto development and testing for Powertrain control system.
• Drive innovation in EV powertrain technologies including inverter control and motor drive systems.
•Perform risk assessment during powertrain function development, identifying potential failure modes and ensuring mitigation strategies are in place.
• Analysing the existing Design and recommend improvements in terms of cost/ energy efficiency without affecting basic performance requirements.
•Perform theoretical calculations to determine the vehicle performance requirement for powertrain components.
•Vehicle integration and packaging for the drivetrain components and system
•Value addition and suggestions for improvements as applicable
•Reporting to Team Manager in a timely and efficient manner
•Complying to company policies and follow company values and business code of practice
Mission
To lead powertrain control system projects by delivering efficient design solutions, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Responsibilities include developing functional specifications, interpreting technical documents, and aligning with company policies to achieve customer satisfaction and engineering excellence.
Experience Requirements:
•10+ yrs. of experience – Mining / Earth moving equipment /off road vehicles preferably on Powertrain control system design.
Education:
•BE/ME – Mechanical/Automobile Engineering
Tool knowledge:
•Hands on experience with MATLAB & simulation activities
•Good knowledge on EV Powertrain design
Knowledge Requirement:
•Experience working on Cre-o & PLM system
•Have Knowledge / exposure to Trouble shooting and testing.
•Vehicle Mechanics & Integration.
•Basic project management knowledge.

•Enthusiastic, positive minded and able to work well in an international client environment.
•Excellent Interpersonal & Communication skills, Team player - open-minded and flexible
