Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Verification & Validation Engineer to join our high-performance applications team. This role requires strong expertise in Python-based automation, along with the ability to perform hands-on system and machine-level validation on mining, drilling, and construction equipment.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of automation testing skills and deep system understanding, capable of writing scalable automated test scripts while also executing validation activities directly on machines and integrated test rigs.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation & Software Verification

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites (functional, regression, integration, performance).
• Develop Python-based test scripts and custom automation frameworks.
• Use tools such as Robot Framework, Selenium, and other libraries for automation of UI/embedded systems.
• Define test strategies, create comprehensive test plans, and manage test cases using Jira or equivalent tools.
• Perform debugging, log analysis, and root cause investigation for complex issues.
• Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).

System / Machine Validation

• Conduct hands-on validation tests on machines, simulators, test benches, and integrated systems.
• Validate end-to-end workflows on mining/drilling equipment and ensure system compliance with functional & safety requirements.
• Perform hardware–software integration testing, including sensor, I/O, hydraulics, engine, and actuator interactions.
• Analyse machine performance, check system response behaviour, and document deviations or improvement needs.
• Ensure adherence to Epiroc’s validation standards, safety practices, and field-testing guidelines.

•Ability to define test strategies, create detailed test plans, and manage test case repositories using tools like Jira.

• Skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex issues.
• Experience with debugging tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams including developers, system engineers, and product owners.
• Ability to lead testing discussions, reviews, and defect triages.
• Passion for quality advocacy and mentoring junior team members in testing best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant engineering fields (e.g., Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science) with 3 to 8 years of professional experience.
• Proficient in Python with the ability to develop test scripts and automation frameworks.
• Experience in C++, PLC- based systems is an asset.
• Experience with automation tools such as Robot Framework, Selenium, and related test libraries.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, J1939, LIN, and Ethernet is an advantage.
• Experience using Git for version control, CI/CD practices, and tools within the Azure DevOps ecosystem. Familiarity with automated deployment pipelines and versioning best practices.
• Excellent customer-facing skills with a proactive approach, capable of understanding client needs and delivering customized solutions
