Key Responsibilities
- Time and Attendance
- Self-discipline and adherence to company rules and regulations
- Use the correct personal protective equipment
- Ensure that production operations are carried out as per company’s production manufacturing specifications
- Stick to quality requirements (STOP the process if quality deviates from specification raise red flags)
- Ensuring that the production schedule is adhered too
- Ensuring that the plant meets output requirements
- Operating of CNC lathes, milling machines and Multi-axis machine centres
- Continuous improvement of machine efficiencies
- Setting and machining of 1st off pieces for new jobs
- Responsible for meeting daily production targets
- Must be able to clock jobs and read clock gauge
- Adherence to quality requirements as specified in the work instructions and drawings
- Ensure that the 5 “s” rules are adhere too
- Will carry out any other function or duty as may be required in terms of “The Way We Do Things
Experience requirements
- A proven track record that fits in with the job requirements
- Knowledge of Fanuc and Mazatrol controls essential
- Basic programming experience
- Linex control experience would be an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in CNC machining environment
- Machine tool experience
- Understanding of Lean and 5 “s”
Knowledge / Educational requirements
- Matric – Mathematics essential
- Relevant trade qualification an advantage
- Ability to manually load as well as electronically upload and download programs on to CNC machines
- Must be able to read drawings and perform mathematical calculations to calculate feeds and speeds for cutting tools
- Knowledge in threading and canned cycles
