Since becoming part of the Epiroc family in 2023, we have continued to grow by combining CR’s engineering expertise with Epiroc’s global strength and scale. While you will be employed by Epiroc, your role will sit within the GET Business Line, where you will contribute directly to our mission of delivering cutting‑edge solutions that drive performance for mining customers worldwide.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Digital Operations Engineer with a strong background in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering to support the deployment, commissioning and performance optimisation of our machine-integrated digital systems.

This is not an IT helpdesk role.

This is a hands-on engineering position working directly with:

  • Heavy mining equipment

  • Sensor systems and machine-mounted hardware

  • Electro-mechanical assemblies

  • Real-time operational data

  • Field deployments in live production environments

You will take ownership of ensuring our digital hardware and machine systems are installed correctly, calibrated accurately, and delivering reliable, high-quality performance data to customers.

You will work at the interface between mechanical systems, embedded sensors and operational technology,  translating engineering theory into real-world machine performance improvements.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Commission and calibrate machine-mounted digital hardware and sensor systems

  • Coordinate on-site deployments across Australian mine sites

  • Diagnose mechanical, sensor and system-level faults

  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical and data integration issues

  • Support optimisation of machine performance through data validation and system tuning

  • Work closely with product engineering and digital development teams to feedback field learnings

  • Support customers in understanding and applying system outputs to improve productivity

This role offers exposure to large-scale mining equipment, advanced sensor technology and the opportunity to work in diverse operating conditions across Australia.

About You

You are an engineer first, comfortable around machinery, confident working on site, and motivated by solving real mechanical and systems challenges.

You will bring:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline

  • Experience working with electro-mechanical systems, embedded sensors or machine-integrated hardware

  • Hands-on commissioning, calibration and fault-finding experience

  • Strong understanding of machine kinematics and mechanical systems

  • Ability to interpret sensor-derived data in the context of physical machine performance

  • Exposure to mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or industrial equipment (highly regarded)

  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working on mine sites

  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Grafana, PowerBI, etc.)

  • Basic scripting or programming exposure (Python, C/C++, etc.)

  • Understanding of networking concepts within industrial environments

Travel

This role is based from Cannon Hill (Brisbane) and includes regular travel to mine sites across Australia, with occasional international exposure.

You must be able to obtain and complete a relevant site medical.
