Operational Excellence Manager
At Epiroc, we drive Operational Excellence through disciplined execution, quality, safety, and strong customer focus. We are seeking a strategic and technically strong leader to enhance the efficiency, productivity, and value proposition of our Service Workshops, embedding continuous improvement and performance culture across the organization.
Mission: Lead the Operational Excellence agenda for Service Workshops by strengthening preventive and corrective maintenance execution, enhancing technical diagnostics capabilities, and promoting best practices in maintenance and equipment operation.
This role is responsible for analyzing, defining, and implementing strategies that increase workshop efficiency through process optimization, automation, KPI governance, and strong management control, always ensuring high customer satisfaction and alignment with market demands.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Operational Governance

Define mid-to-long-term strategy (1–3 years) and Annual Plan, including budget, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Align strategy with operational areas (contracts, technical service), commercial teams, and factory stakeholders.

Disseminate and embed the Operational Excellence model across the organization.

Establish governance frameworks, management control tools, and performance monitoring systems.

Continuously analyze and monitor productivity and maintenance KPIs across Service Workshops.
Maintenance Engineering & Process Optimization

Lead the Maintenance Engineering function as a driver of innovation and productivity improvement.

Analyze core processes (application, maintenance, performance) to identify deviations and implement corrective actions.

Identify improvement opportunities and prioritize them based on feasibility and strategic impact.

Research, develop, and lead automation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workshop efficiency and service levels.
Technical Advisory & Customer Value

Provide guidance on technical diagnostics and promote best practices in maintenance and equipment operation.

Review and approve workshop repair and rebuild quotations; negotiate directly with customers when required.

Ensure alignment between approved quotations and purchase orders.

Manage technical communications with factory, including warranties, service reports, and service news.

Maintain periodic engagement with customers and their operations to strengthen long-term partnerships.
People Leadership & Culture

Lead and develop the team under responsibility, covering recruitment, capability building, performance management, and succession planning.

Foster a high-performance culture focused on quality, collaboration, safety, and customer orientation.
Compliance & Quality Execution

Ensure compliance with SYSO, ISO standards, corporate policies, and safety regulations.

Maintain strong execution discipline and quality control standards across workshops.
Profile Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, Mining, Geology, or related field). .

Minimum 7 years of experience in similar roles within mining or mining contractors.

Strong technical background in mining equipment and applications (AC equipment preferred).

Proven experience leading technical and operational teams.

Solid knowledge of management control, project evaluation, and negotiation techniques.

Advanced English proficiency.

Availability to travel.

Strong interpersonal, analytical, and customer-focused mindset.
