Supply Chain Operations Manager

Join Epiroc, a global leader in mining and infrastructure equipment, as a Supply Chain Operations Manager in our dynamic Surface Division based in Zacatecas, Mexico. About the Role

As the Supply Chain Operations Manager, you will be the pivotal link between the Regional Supply Chain General Manager and the local operational teams, managing end-to-end supply chain functions within Mexico. This includes oversight of warehouse management, inventory control, order fulfillment, inbound replenishment, import/export, and transportation coordination. You will guide and develop a dedicated team, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain performance significantly.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact for all supply chain-related inquiries and issues within the country, ensuring prompt resolution and clear accountability across stakeholders.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the supply chain teams located within the Customer Centers, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and uphold logistics principles, policies, and processes aligned with the new supply chain organizational structure and strategic goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, product availability, transportation costs, obsolescence, and inventory cost of goods sold to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication forums connecting supply chain and Customer Center stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Support supply chain transformation initiatives aimed at integrating global models, including managing change at the country level and evolving regional supply chain networks and services.
  • Drive operational cost-saving opportunities through targeted improvement projects across warehousing, transport, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
  • Contract and operational management of third-party logistics providers (3PLs), including performance monitoring, relationship management, and facility oversight for Epiroc-run distribution centers.
  • Participate actively in Customer Center management team meetings, contributing valuable insights and strategic input.

 

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management with a strong background in strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership.
  • Academic degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Senior-level expertise in supply chain and logistics with relevant certifications or licenses considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, for data analysis, reporting, and presentation purposes.
  • Thorough understanding of supply chain end-to-end processes including domestic and international order throughput, logistics, distribution, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members, promoting professional development and high performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues, propose effective solutions, and implement corrective actions.
