Underground Mining Engineer

We are looking for a technically strong and customer-oriented professional to support the growth of our Underground Mining business by integrating mine planning expertise, operational optimization, and advanced technologies such as automation, digitalization, and battery-electric solutions (BEV).

Mission

Accelerate profitable growth in Underground Mining by delivering high-value technical expertise that connects mine planning, operational optimization, and advanced technologies to improve customer productivity and strengthen Epiroc’s value proposition.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate underground mine plans and operational scenarios (development, production methods, sequencing, ventilation, and services).

• Conduct operational diagnostics, simulations, and fleet productivity analyses to identify improvement opportunities.

• Prepare technical value assessments, business cases, and TCO/payback analyses to support internal and customer decision-making.

• Support Sales in tenders and quotations by ensuring accurate technical configurations and strong value propositions.

• Promote and support the implementation of automation, digitalization, and BEV technologies.

• Act as a technical interface between customers, Sales, Service teams, and Product Companies to ensure coordinated project execution.

• Deliver technical training and share best practices with internal teams and customers.

Profile Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field (preferred).

• 3+ years of experience in underground mine planning, design, or mining operations.

• Knowledge of underground mining methods such as Longhole Stoping, Cut & Fill, or Room & Pillar.

• Experience with mine planning or simulation software such as Deswik, Datamine, Vulcan, or similar tools.

• Understanding of operational optimization, productivity analysis, and mining value drivers.

• Knowledge of automation, digitalization, or BEV mining technologies is desirable.

• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Advanced English.

• Availability to travel 30–50% and work in mining environments.
