Are you a proactive leader with a passion for safety, process excellence, and team development? We’re looking for a Production Lead to drive operational success, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure a safe and productive work environment for all team members. The Production Lead is responsible for providing leadership for team members using technical information and training to achieve the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) standards of the company. The production lead will keep the value streams flowing by keeping product moving and positioning personnel where needed to be successful.

Work Type (Onsite): This position will be based onsite at our Delhi, IA facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership
-
- Identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Champion company safety practices and procedures.
- Lead efforts to define and eliminate obstacles to a safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement
-
- Drive initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve flow.
- Create and implement standardized processes to reduce variation.
- Maintain and update the team improvement board to reflect progress and goals.
Production & Process Management
-
- Plan and communicate daily production targets using visual tools (e.g., day-by-hour charts, scheduling boards).
- Understand and communicate customer takt times to align team output.
- Remove finished goods and waste materials from the work area to maintain flow.
Training & Development
-
- Oversee training and cross-training within the assigned Value Stream.
- Aid in the development and implementation of standard work procedures.
- Ensure adherence to standard work and work sequences.
Team Engagement
-
- Lead daily 5-minute start-of-shift meetings to review safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Anticipate and resolve issues that may impact team performance.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.
Knowledge/Education:
- Minimum of 2 years in supervisory or leadership role preferred
- Welding and/or machinist experience strongly preferred
- An associate's degree in a technical discipline is preferred; a high school diploma is acceptable.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrated competency using computer programs; MRP/ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Displays a proactive and positive approach to lead others in continuous improvement activities.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to identify safety risks and implement corrective actions.
- Experience with visual management tools and production planning.
- Leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
- Effective interpersonal skills are essential.
- Strong understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
