About the Role

 

As General Manager, your mission is to lead and develop the Montreal Production Company, ensuring operational excellence across manufacturing, logistics, planning and sourcing/procurement. With full P&L and legal accountability, you will drive sustainable and profitable growth while aligning local operations with Divisional and Group strategies and “The Epiroc Way”.

 

In this role, you will actively build and foster an inclusive team environment and culture and further develop the site into a world-class production unit, characterized by strong safety and quality awareness, efficient and flexible operations, and continuous improvement. As the senior site leader, you will ensure close collaboration across Operations, Sales, Marketing and R&D, and play a central role in Epiroc integration initiatives by embedding new systems, processes and ways of working.

 

This is a key leadership position within the Operations organization, reporting to the Director of Operations, OBK Consumables / Surface Division.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Production Company’s strategic and operational development, with full accountability for manufacturing, logistics, planning, sourcing/procurement and support functions.
  • Define and execute the local production strategy in line with Divisional and Global Operations priorities, translating strategy into clear business plans, KPIs and targets.
  • Drive safe, efficient and flexible manufacturing operations with strong focus on production planning, inventory management and on-time delivery.
  • Lead change initiatives and continuously improve performance through LEAN principles, digitalization and automation, challenging existing ways of working.
  • Ensure stable financial performance with ownership of P&L, working capital and cash flow, and secure transparency, governance and compliance.
  • Optimize supplier performance and sourcing strategies, while supporting footprint development, make-or-buy decisions and portfolio optimization.
  • Act as senior site leader for the Montreal site, fostering effective cross-functional collaboration and strong alignment with global stakeholders.
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing local management team, promoting engagement, inclusion and succession planning.
  • Champion a safety-first culture with a strong focus on SHEQ, quality discipline and continuous improvement in line with zero-accident ambition.
  • Role-model Epiroc values and leadership behaviors, strengthening a culture of accountability, integrity and continuous learning.

 

 

Experience and requirements

 

  • University degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or a related field.
  • Senior leadership experience from manufacturing or production environments, with proven end-to-end P&L accountability.
  • Strong background in operational excellence, LEAN methodologies and production system development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, execute strategy and deliver sustainable business results in complex organizations.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written; French proficiency is mandatory.
