Our Equipment & Service Business Area is seeking a visionary and experienced Business Area Controller to lead our financial strategy and control agenda across a dynamic, global organization. This is a key leadership role with end-to-end financial responsibility for the Business Area’s performance, governance, and strategic execution.

 

 

 

About the role

 

As Business Area Controller, you will serve as the financial co-pilot to the Equipment & Service Business Area President, playing a vital role in steering the business toward sustainable and profitable growth. You will be accountable to ensure financial excellence across all divisions and legal entities within the Business Area, with a strong focus on governance, risk management, and strategic planning.

 

In this role, you will work closely with a skilled and diverse finance team across multiple geographies, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in transformation, digitalization, and performance management.

 

You will collaborate closely with sister business area business controller, division controllers, division presidents, acquisition leads, group functions, the Epiroc CFO, and other local leaders such as business line managers, legal functions, and IT leads to deliver results that matter.

 

This is a newly created role with a direct reporting line to Jess Kindler Equipment & Service Business Area President

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Lead the financial performance of the Business Area, overseeing planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision support in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Business Area President, providing financial insights, scenario analysis, and forward-looking advice to shape key decisions and drive strong financial performance of the Business Area.
  • Drive operational excellence and efficiency by developing scalable and standardized finance processes across the Business Area.
  • Secure compliance with Epiroc’s internal control framework, group policies, IFRS, and local legal requirements.
  • Proactively identify risks, opportunities, and efficiency gaps, ensuring early mitigation and transparent reporting.
  • Lead the financial integration of acquisitions and divestments, supporting due diligence, onboarding, and long-term value creation.
  • Champion digitalization and automation within finance, driving adoption of modern tools and analytics capabilities.
  • Lead, coach, develop, mentor and guide a diverse and high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Recruit the smartest and most capable finance professionals available in each business and geography.
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards for all financial and business work products coming from your Business Area.
  • Support capital allocation, investment decisions, and cost optimization initiatives across the Business Area.
  • Represent finance in business reviews, strategic initiatives, and external audits.
  • Support Epiroc financial system investment, implementation, and maintenance for reporting, market intelligence, tax, banking, legal, and sales pipelines.

 

 

Experience and requirements

 

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA or MBA is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior finance or business control experience in a large, global, matrixed organization.
  • Proven track record in managing P&L accountability, driving transformation, and leading multi-functional teams. 
  • Deep understanding of financial governance, IFRS, internal controls, and risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with M&A, including financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset, combined with hands-on execution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in ERP systems, BI tools, and financial digitalization projects and with a drive to improve efficiency using technology.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal); preference for additional languages.

 

Location and travel

 

Preferred location is Atlanta, Georgia or Dallas, Texas USA

Other locations to be considered by Business Area President (who is located in Atlanta).

 

International travel expected up to 50%.
