Join Our Team as a Business Continuity & Loss Prevention Intern at Epiroc!

The Business Continuity & Loss Prevention Intern will support the development, testing, and implementation of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) across all legal entities and operating units within the Region. This role is designed to help close current organizational gaps related to BCP ownership, regional and country-level requirements, and structured testing processes.

Business continuity ensure our organization can maintain essential operations or quickly reestablish them during disruptions such as natural disaster, cyber incidents, supply chain failures, workforce shortages, or facility outages. This internship strengthens organizational resilience, supports compliance obligations build a deeper understand of crisis readiness and response.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Business Continuity Planning
    • Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for the Region and each Country in alignment with Group Insurance standards and newly released BCP templates.
    • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Risk Assessments across various functions.
    • Document critical processes, recovery time objectives (RTO), recovery point objectives (RPO), and resource requirements.

 

  • BCP Testing & Validation
    • Create and execute BCP testing scenarios, tabletop exercises, simulations, and after-action reviews.
    • Identify gaps in current plans, prepare improvement recommendations, and support implementation.
    • Work with Drilling Solutions and additional business units to establish a designated testing framework.

 

  • Loss Prevention Support
    • Assist in coordinating initiatives stemming from the North America Loss Prevention program.
    • Support communication, documentation, and tracking of findings from the most recent loss prevention teleconference attended by stakeholders—including General Managers, Business Controllers, HR, and SHEQ personnel.

 

  • Documentation & Policy Development
    • Develop foundational continuity planning policies for consistent regional application.
    • Prepare guidance documents, procedural workflows, checklists, and training resources.
    • Ensure documentation meets compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

 

  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    • Engage with stakeholders across General Management, Finance, HR, SHEQ, and operations.
    • Collaborate with Group Insurance and Loss Prevention teams, including participants from the recent North America loss prevention teleconference.
    • Coordinate communication and update cycles with internal teams to ensure BCP readiness.

 

Knowledge/Education:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Business, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Information Systems, SHEQ, Security Studies, Public Administration, or related field (required)
  • Anticipated Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 graduation date preferred
  • GPA 3.0 or higher (required)

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Interest in risk management, business continuity, loss prevention, or crisis management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse cross functional teams
  • Experience conducting research, process mapping, or project documentation
  • Strong analytics and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, teams, SharePoint, etc)
