IT Regional Project Portfolio Manager’s key strategic responsibilities are to manage the project portfolio and project demand in the region. You work closely with different IT functions and apply different project methodologies. You will mentor, train, and develop local project managers. You will personally manage the projects in the region while following our global PMO processes.


Job Description

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of any project in a company's IT department, which includes managing a team of resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within their specified budgets. Some of an IT Project Manager's day-to-day duties include but are not limited to:

- Setting project goals and coming up with plans to meet those goals

- Maintaining project timeframes, budgeting estimates and status reports

- Managing resources for projects, such as computer equipment and employees

- Coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities

- Implementing IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget

- Using project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence

- Conducting risk assessments for projects

- Organizing meetings to discuss project goals and progress


You will be responsible for the incoming regional and local project demand. You will be assessing business cases and project proposals and recommending the project set-up about strategies, initiatives, projects, and programs. You will be part of the Project manager Resource Pool and manage projects.

In addition to the above, you will be training regional and local stakeholders within Project Management competencies. You will also provide mentoring and coaching to sponsors, owners, and project managers in the regional arena. 

You will get the opportunity to manage local, regional, and global projects. You will work with different geographies and both internal and external resources. This will apply both waterfall and agile project methodologies to achieve the required results of a project.


Experience and knowledge requirements


We require an experience in project management (including both waterfall and agile methods) which can be proven by relevant certification or work experience.


Experience and the ability to coordinate and lead projects with people from different cultures and businesses are necessary.


Technical experience managing infrastructure related projects, IT integration projects related to mergers and acquisitions, software/hardware deployments, and application integration projects to name some.


Certification in Project Management Professional PMP®

- Advanced computer skills and in-depth knowledge of different operating systems, network       administration and service desk administration

- Project management and leadership skills for managing projects and the teams involved with them

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management to explain technical issues

- Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle any issues that occur during project completion

- Organization and time management skills to keep projects on track and within budget

- Excellent resource planning and task scheduling skills



Open-minded professional willing to collaborate with people around the globe to coordinate and lead projects. Positive and can-do attitude. Well-structured and proactive when it comes to working independently.  Be willing to adjust working hours due to different time zones.

Must have effective leadership skills to successfully coordinate a project and motivate employees to deliver their tasks on time. They must also have impressive written and verbal communication abilities, since they are responsible for staying constant contact with employees and clients via email, phone calls and video conferencing tools. Ideal candidates should also have great technical skills to better understand the different computer system projects their implementing.
