Safety, Sustainability and Sourcing Coordinator - Epiroc UK & Ireland

Your mission

In this role, you will work closely with the business to drive and develop health, safety, environmental and sustainability initiatives across the UK & Ireland. You will also support and coordinate sourcing activities, helping to optimize procurement processes, strengthen supplier performance and ensure compliance with Epiroc's values and Code of Conduct.

A key part of the role involves leading projects and improvement activities. Working closely with colleagues, customers and suppliers, you will help ensure initiatives are effectively implemented and embedded within day-to-day operations.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Driving and developing systematic work environment and sustainability activities across the UK & Ireland business.
• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company guidelines and ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001).
• Supporting the business with audits, risk assessments, incident management, and preventive work.
• Delivering training to strengthen competence within the organization and promoting a positive safety and sustainability culture.
• Initiating and driving projects and improvement activities related to safety, work environment, and sustainability.
• Coordinating indirect (non-core) purchases of goods and services that support business operations in areas such as facility management, fleet, office services, equipment, maintenance and consultancy services.
• Monitoring and reporting expenditure across key suppliers and supporting local purchasing and invoicing for indirect sourcing.
• Ensuring that sourcing is carried out in line with Epiroc’s values and Code of Conduct.

Your profile

We are looking for a service-oriented professional with experience in health & safety, work environment and sustainability along with an understanding of sourcing processes and cost efficiency. You are comfortable working closely with operational teams and have a proven ability to turn requirements and initiatives into practical, business-focused outcomes.

You work independently and adapt easily to changing business needs. Building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders comes naturally to you, and you are comfortable working across functions, locations and levels of the organization to improve processes and ways of working.

What you will bring:

• Demonstrated excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills.

• At least 5 years’ experience within health & safety, environmental management and sustainability.
• Good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and systematic work environment management.
• Experience with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
• Experience leading projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives within an operational business.
• A relevant post-secondary qualification in Health & Safety, Sustainability or a related field is preferred. NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH membership and ISEP membership would be advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Full UK driving license.

Location and travel

This position is based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. At Epiroc, we apply a hybrid working model where you have the opportunity to work from home part of the time.

Travel within the UK, with occasional travel to other locations in Northern Europe, will be part of the role.
