Job Title - Technologist Trainee- Production

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate processes, documentation, and reporting of changes and inspections.
  •  Maintain an effective Quality Assurance system in the CNC machine shop.
  • Monitor and ensure timely Route Card movement aligned with material processing.
  • Ensure proper utilization, availability, and maintenance of machines and measuring equipment; troubleshoot CNC and related equipment issues.
  • Communicate requirements for consumables to engineers and ensure timely procurement.
  • Oversee proper machining of all products to meet specifications.
  • Train and coach casual workers to required competency levels.
  • Contribute to product development initiatives.
  • Uphold strict adherence to the Business Code of Conduct.
  • Support continual improvement projects, including LEAN management systems.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks such as lubrication, cleaning, and machine upkeep.
  • Understand, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs and operations.
  • Inspect finished parts against specifications to maintain production standards.
  • Record production data, maintain logs, and report deviations or defects.
  • Follow workplace safety protocols and ensure safe machine operations.
  • Hands-on experience in CNC operations and maintenance activities.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, assembly, and quality assurance.
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming fundamentals (G-codes and M-codes).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Competence in preparing machines by installing tools, fixtures, and materials.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as vernier-calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and related equipment.

  • Participate in Planned workplace inspections, Risk Assessment, near miss & Accident reporting.

  • Undertaking periodic training in safe work practices, system requirements to operating colleague and, where necessary, re-training.
