Job Title :                        Maintenance Electrician X 2 

Location:                       New Concept Mining – Aeroton, Johannesburg

Purpose of the Job:   

• To perform maintenance on all production equipment in accordance with the Maintenance Schedule

            Oversees Maintenance Assistants

Qualification Requirements:  

• Qualified Electrical Artisan (Trade Test Completed)
• 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment
• Wireman’s Licence advantageous                                       

Knowledge & Experience:     

• Steel Processing, Steel Welding, FMCG or Automotive experience is advantageous.
• PLC experience (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi or Moeller) is required.
• AC & DC Motor drive experience is required
• Exposure to a variety of instrumentation and control systems is essential
•  Ability to maintain high standard of housekeeping in the work area
• Good communication skills

Function

• Ensure correct maintenance of all equipment in production is performed to a suitable standard.
• Develop and manage the “critical spares” list.
• Develop, implement and maintain preventative maintenance programme for production equipment
• Observe mechanical operations to determine levels of efficiencies and detect problems
• Assist the maintenance team in performing maintenance other than electrical.
• Assist in all project work in the factory
• Supervision of Maintenance Assistants by delegating, monitoring and assisting with maintenance
• Liaise with Electrical Foreman/Production Personnel as to when maintenance can be performed
• Acquiring material and spares before performing planned maintenance
• Ensure maintenance tools are adequately maintained and in good working condition
• Perform maintenance on all production equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedule
• Adhere to quality standards for all maintenance performed
• Adhere to OHSACT regulations
• Ensure housekeeping of plant and general areas facilitates a tidy, neat environment – this includes cleaning of maintenance equipment
