Epiroc in Kalmar is in the midst of the largest expansion in the company’s 60-year-old history, driven by the largest consolidation of production within the group. Today, we manufacture world-leading hydraulic breakers for the mining and construction industries, and we are now expanding our product portfolio - resulting in growth in capacity, workforce, and revenue.

 

We are taking on new technologies in machining and heat treatment, expanding our assembly operations, and preparing our new engineering laboratory to test and develop new, larger products. At the same time, we are modernizing our material handling.

Your Mission
As Business Controller, you will report directly to the General Manager and act as a key member of the local management team and a trusted financial co-pilot. You will have overall responsibility for the entity’s financial management, ensuring high-quality reporting in accordance with group guidelines and local regulations. Through accurate, timely and relevant financial analysis, you will support decision-making and actively contribute to the company’s strategy and performance. You will lead and develop the local finance function, including managing one direct report, and drive the Plan-to-Perform process, ensuring transparency, compliance, and continuous improvement across financial processes.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead and manage the local accounting and controlling function
•    Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in line with group standards (ECS)
•    Secure strong internal controls and compliance with the Epiroc Way and IFRS standards
•    Act as a business partner to the General Manager and management team, supporting strategic planning and performance analysis
•    Own and monitor financial performance, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement and KPIs
•    Drive forecasting and financial planning processes
•    Responsible for product cost calculations and taking lead in identifying cost reduction activities
•    Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and cost/inventory analysis
•    Coordinate external and internal audits in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
•    Ensure compliance with local tax, legal, and regulatory requirements
•    Support business reviews and provide insights to improve operational and financial performance
•    Promote financial awareness, training and the use of BI tools across the organization
•    Lead or contribute to ad-hoc projects such as investments, system implementations and process improvements
•    Build and maintain relationships with internal group functions and external partners (banks, auditors, tax advisors)
•    Raise “red flags” when risks or deviations from sound business principles arise

 

Your Profile

  • We are looking for someone with a university degree in business administration or equivalent experience. 
  • You have several years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills are essential, as you will lead and develop a team and collaborate with others.
  • You have a good understanding and knowledge of the Swedish regulations connected to the role as a Business Controller.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, IFRS and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (M3 is a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
  • For this position you need to speak and write English fluently. Knowledge in Swedísh is a plus.
