As a Business Development Manager - Ground Support at Epiroc, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and enhancing the market penetration of underground mining ground support solutions within the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Your primary responsibility will be to identify new business opportunities, nurture and maintain strong client relationships, and deliver tailored technical-commercial solutions that meet the specific operational needs of mining clients in the region. This role is instrumental in establishing Epiroc as the market leader in ground support by expanding our market share and delivering exceptional value to our customers.

 

Your Mission

 

  • Assess market potential and segment customers to design and execute effective channel strategies that maximize coverage and impact.
  • Develop and implement customer‑specific and regional strategies to deliver best‑in‑class solutions and drive customer loyalty.
  • Grow business volume, market share, and regional presence, positioning Epiroc as the leading ground support provider in the DRC.
  • Optimize regional pricing strategies to remain competitive while ensuring sustainable profitability.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing commercial and technical team to achieve strategic and operational objectives. 
  • Build robust market intelligence and translate insights into data‑driven, agile strategies through strong cross‑functional collaboration and customer partnerships.

 

Your Profile:

 

  • 12 to 15+ years of progressive experience in the mining industry, preferably with substantial underground mining experience.
  • 7 to 10+ years in business development or commercial leadership roles within the mining sector.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding market share and securing high-value contracts.
  • Experience working within the Democratic Republic of Congo or broader Central African mining markets is highly desirable.
  • Strong expertise and technical knowledge of ground support or related mining solutions.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred, providing advanced business and leadership knowledge..
