Are you ready?

Your mission as a Component Support Specialist - Engines

Are you passionate about keeping the engines that power mining operations running at their absolute best? As Epiroc's Component Support Specialist for Engines in Kolwezi, you'll be the go-to expert for everything engine-related — owning maintenance strategies, driving reliability improvements, and working directly with OEM giants like Cummins, Caterpillar, and Deutz to resolve issues before they become costly failures. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned engine specialist who combines deep technical knowledge with the strategic mindset to turn data into decisions and keep fleets performing at full capacity.

What you’ll do

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for all engine-related matters, coordinating with OEM manufacturers (Cummins, Caterpillar, Deutz) for technical support, troubleshooting, and issue escalation.
  • Develop and manage engine maintenance and overhaul strategies based on operating hours, condition monitoring, and OEM recommendations to maximise uptime and component life. Drive resolution of recurring failures, implement reliability improvements, and promote best practices in engine operation, maintenance, and handling in line with OEM and Epiroc standards.
  • Collaborate with Parts Planning and Supply Chain teams to maintain optimal stock levels, forecast component requirements, and minimise both stock-outs and excess inventory.
  • Track engine health, reliability trends, and failure modes across all engine models, analysing data to identify improvement opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provide regular performance reports to management and deliver actionable insights that support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Work closely with Site Operations Managers and internal teams to align maintenance activities with operational needs, ensuring seamless communication between site teams and OEM representatives.

What you’ll bring

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Diesel Engineering (or related field)
  • 10 -12 years in heavy equipment or mining, with hands-on engine maintenance and overhauls
  • Experience working with engines from Cummins, Caterpillar Inc., and Deutz AG
  • Solid understanding of Engine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance Planning

Who you are

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required; French Advantageous)
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to plan strategically
