The Product Application Manager - Drilling at Epiroc plays a pivotal role in delivering expert technical guidance, application support, and vital market intelligence specifically for drilling equipment and solutions within the mining sector. This role is fundamental in ensuring that customer needs are deeply understood and effectively communicated to the sales and product development teams, fostering a collaborative approach that drives product innovation and customer satisfaction.

 

By serving as the authoritative technical expert on drilling applications, this position acts as the primary conduit between customers and internal teams. It empowers the sales force with technical insights and strengthens market positioning by aligning product capabilities with operational requirements, particularly in the demanding mining environment of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

 

Your Mission

  • Provide technical advice on drilling equipment, optimization, and product selection.
  • Support sales teams and customers with tailored technical solutions.
  • Conduct site evaluations, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to tenders, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver training, develop materials, and drive aftermarket growth and customer success.

 

Your Profile:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining/mechanical engineering or related field; English required, French preferred.
  • 5–8 years’ experience with drilling equipment, particularly underground operations.
  • Strong technical expertise in drilling machinery, technology, and mining applications.
  • Experience in African mining environments (DRC exposure advantageous).
  • Strong customer-facing, communication, and technical sales capabilities with commercial awareness.
  • Analytical, adaptable, and independent, with problem-solving skills and willingness to travel extensively.

  • Location: Kolwezi, DRC
  • Reporting to: Business Line Manager – Underground, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • This is an onsite role with frequent travel to remote mining locations, offering a challenging yet rewarding environment.
