The Product Application Manager – Material Handling plays a pivotal role within our organization by providing deep technical expertise, application support, and comprehensive market intelligence focused on material handling equipment and solutions. This position is crucial in ensuring a seamless alignment between customer requirements, sales initiatives, and product development strategies. Situated in Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo, the role supports mining operations through effective material handling solutions tailored to the unique demands of the region.

 

As the Product Application Manager, you will serve as the technical authority on material handling applications, acting as the voice of the customer within internal product and portfolio teams. Your insights and expertise will be instrumental in driving sales growth and enhancing customer satisfaction. By championing strong value positioning and continual product performance improvement, you will enable the optimal application of material handling equipment in challenging underground mining environments.

 

Your Mission

  • Provide technical expertise on material handling equipment, including optimization and product selection.
  • Act as a technical advisor to sales teams and customers, solving complex application challenges.
  • Conduct site assessments, troubleshooting, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal operations.
  • Support tenders, case studies, and training by delivering technical input and value-based insights.
  • Drive product improvement through market feedback, innovation support, and cross-team collaboration.

 

Your Profile:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mining, Mechanical, or related field preferred).
  • 5–8 years’ experience in material handling or mining applications, especially underground.
  • Experience in African mining environments; DRC exposure is advantageous.
  • Background in customer-facing or technical sales roles with commercial awareness.
  • Strong technical expertise in material handling systems, combined with analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management with a strong customer focus.
  • Proficient in MS Office; self-driven, adaptable, and willing to travel extensively (English required, French advantageous).

  • Location: Kolwezi, DRC
  • Reporting to: Business Line Manager – Underground, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • This is an onsite role with frequent travel to remote mining locations, offering a challenging yet rewarding environment.
