Quality and Safety ( Workshop & rebuilds) Manager

This role is critical to ensuring safe operations and consistent rebuild quality as Epiroc’s workshop volumes continue to grow. The Manager – Quality & Safety (Workshop & Rebuilds) establishes and continuously improves quality and safety systems within the rebuild workshop environment. By ensuring all midlife overhauls and component rebuilds meet or exceed OEM and Epiroc global safety standards, this role reduces rework, field failures, and operational risk. It plays a key part in protecting Epiroc’s people, assets, and reputation while embedding a strong quality‑first and safety‑first culture that supports sustainable business growth.
Your Mission
- Establish and maintain a robust QMS, ensuring all rebuilds comply with OEM standards, Epiroc procedures, and documented inspection, traceability, and verification requirements.
- Implement and enforce Epiroc safety standards across workshops, lead audits and risk assessments, investigate incidents, and drive corrective and preventive actions while embedding a strong safety culture.
- Analyse field failures, warranty data, and customer feedback to identify root causes, standardize rebuild methods, and drive continuous improvements in reliability, consistency, and efficiency.
- Act as the quality focal point for customer issues, supporting timely investigation and resolution of field failures and warranty claims while reducing returns and warranty costs.
- Develop and manage inspection standards, tools, calibration processes, quality documentation, and reporting systems, supporting digital quality tracking where applicable.
- Build quality and safety capability through training and awareness programs, and collaborate with operations, engineering, field service, and customer support teams to improve end‑to‑end lifecycle quality.
Your Profile:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 8–15 years’ experience in a quality function within an equipment assembly manufacturing plant (mandatory), with exposure to heavy machinery or mining equipment OEM environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS, ISO standards), inspection and testing methods, mechanical assembly and rebuild processes, and root cause/failure analysis.
- Proven ability in problem-solving, attention to detail, disciplined execution, and strong safety leadership within workshop or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to influence operational teams, enforce quality and safety compliance, and communicate effectively through structured reporting and stakeholder engagement..
