Service Technician

The Service Technician is responsible for providing hands-on service support for Epiroc underground mining equipment at Kamoa Mine. The role includes breakdown response, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, backlog execution, and detailed technical reporting, while ensuring safety, security, and strict compliance with Kamoa Mine site rules and Epiroc maintenance philosophy in all underground operations.
Your Mission
- Full compliance with Epiroc and Kamoa Mine HSE standards, JSAs, PPE requirements, underground access rules, and immediate reporting of unsafe conditions.
- Attend to breakdowns on Epiroc underground equipment, diagnose and repair faults, conduct root cause analysis, and restore equipment to service per OEM standards.
- Perform preventive, corrective, and condition‑based maintenance in line with Epiroc manuals, procedures, and warranty requirements.
- Execute planned backlog tasks efficiently, review job scope and readiness, support backlog reduction, and provide feedback to planners and supervisors.
- Complete accurate service reports and job cards, record faults, repairs, parts, and labor, and contribute data for reliability and continuous improvement.
- Work safely in underground conditions on shift rosters, remain medically fit, and collaborate effectively with Kamoa Mine and Epiroc teams while supporting knowledge sharing.
Your Profile:
- Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Heavy Equipment Engineering, with 3–5 years’ experience servicing Epiroc underground mining equipment
- Proven experience in breakdown response, maintenance execution, and systematic troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of Epiroc OEM maintenance standards, service procedures, and safety requirements
- Solid knowledge of Epiroc mechanical and hydraulic systems, with ability to interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical bulletins
- Experience with planned maintenance, backlog execution, and technical reporting, with basic electrical diagnostic and fault‑finding skills as an advantage
