Service Technician - Surface Rock Drilling

To deliver high-quality technical support to all OBK customers by ensuring machine reliability and optimal availability, while driving customer satisfaction through proactive service delivery, accurate reporting, and strict adherence to Epiroc standards and safety protocols.
Your Mission
- Ensure full compliance with Epiroc IMS, OEM manuals, service bulletins, customer agreements, and safety protocols to achieve zero LTI, zero environmental pollution, total quality delivery, accurate documentation, and adherence to internal and external deadlines.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and commissioning of Epiroc equipment to achieve >85% machine availability, ensure reliability exceeding 60 operating hours post‑service, and maintain zero tolerance for hydraulic contamination through best‑practice component handling.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and technical requests, minimize downtime, and safely restore customer operations, while providing on‑site technical support during commissioning, start‑ups, field demonstrations, and introduction of new or upgraded equipment.
- Conduct proactive equipment audits and inspections, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on component failures, develop corrective action plans, participate in technical and developmental projects, and support workshop and field initiatives to improve productivity, safety, cost efficiency, and product performance.
- Accurately complete job cards, work orders, service reports, field visit reports, quality issue submissions, and warranty evaluations, assess failure modes, and recommend warranty decisions in line with OEM requirements, Epiroc Warranty Policy, and contractual agreements.
- Train customers on safe operation, daily checks, and maintenance practices (practical, theoretical, and safety), identify and report incorrect equipment usage, recommend corrective training, foster strong customer relationships through professional communication, and maintain high 5S housekeeping standards in workshops, service vehicles, and customer sites, including other duties as assigned by the supervisor..
Your Profile:
- Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years’ relevant experience, including supervision or leadership of technicians
- TL1 certification and completion of relevant product training (essential)
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems
- Solid knowledge of power transmission systems, engines, and surface & underground mining equipment (advantageous)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office — particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint — for reporting, communication, and data analysis
