Your mission as a Site Senior Planner
Are you passionate about proactive planning that keeps critical mining equipment in the field and out of the workshop? As Epiroc's Site Senior Planner in Kolwezi, you'll take ownership of maintenance schedules, component forecasting, and inventory strategies that directly impact fleet uptime and Life Cycle Cost objectives. Acting as the central link between site operations, supply chain, and management, your analytical mindset and planning discipline will set the standard for how maintenance excellence is delivered on site.
What you’ll do
- Design, implement, and continuously refine maintenance planning processes, including backlog control, Planned Component Replacement (PCR) schedules, and preventive/corrective maintenance plans, to reduce unplanned downtime and maximise fleet availability.
- Lead efforts to reduce OSMI incidents through accurate forecasting, critical component tracking, and proactive identification of risks related to parts shortages, service delays, and planning gaps.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, logistics, and suppliers to optimise inventory levels, minimise lead times, and support warehouse teams with inventory audits and reconciliation.
- Work closely with workshops, warehouse, supply chain, and site service teams to ensure resources are aligned with operational needs and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) objectives.
- Ensure all tasks are accurately recorded, costed, and invoiced in accordance with service contracts, while maintaining integrity of planning data including downtime, labour, work orders, and maintenance history.
- Act as the primary liaison between site operations, planning, supply chain, sales, and management, preparing and presenting weekly and monthly performance reports covering KPIs, risks, and corrective actions.
- Coach and mentor site planners and workshop coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, safety, and operational discipline across the planning team.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance Management, or related fields.
- Certification or formal training in maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability coupled with understanding of DRC mining and safety regulations is advantageous.
- 8-10 years of experience in service, maintenance, or parts planning, preferably within mining or heavy equipment industries
- Background working with OEMs and key suppliers for engines, components, and essential parts.
- Proven experience in site-level planning, including backlog management, shutdown planning, and long-term forecasting.
