Your Mission
Join Epiroc as a Category Manager and shape the future of sourcing. In this strategic role, you'll lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies that drive cost efficiency, enable sustainable procurement, and secure supplier capacity to support our operations. As the Category Manager, you’ll collaborate with dynamic cross-functional teams to build a resilient, forward-thinking supply chain. You’ll have full ownership of your category, giving you the opportunity to influence key decisions, drive supplier performance, and make a lasting impact on Epiroc’s global success.
What you will do:
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining high-quality standards across all sourcing activities.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Monitor global market trends to identify cost reduction opportunities and manage price volatility.
- Support initiatives that ensure sourcing practices are sustainable, ethical, and environmentally responsible.
- Collaborate with suppliers to promote the use of sustainable materials and processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and sustainability goals in the sourcing process.
- Ensuring that suppliers maintain sufficient capacity to meet Epiroc's material requirements both in the short and long term.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee supply chain reliability and responsiveness.
- Encourage suppliers to develop flexible manufacturing systems that can quickly adapt to demand changes, ensuring responsiveness in times of demand volatility
- Identify potential capacity constraints and work with suppliers to mitigate risks, such as bottlenecks or supply disruptions. This may include creating contingency plans or seeking alternative suppliers to ensure continued material availability
What you’ll bring:
- Diploma and/or degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- 3 years of experience in the mining equipment industry backed by sourcing expertise
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and global supply chain management.
- Proven ability to develop and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Sourcing tools as Cirtuo and BI
