Your mission as a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Technician

Join us as a BEV Technician, where you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining and supporting Epiroc’s cutting-edge battery-powered equipment used in bolting, drilling, loading, and hauling. In this role, you’ll diagnose faults, analyze root causes, and deliver expert repairs to ensure machines run reliably and efficiently. Your work will directly reduce downtime, optimize performance, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality. By driving equipment availability and cost-effectiveness, you’ll play a vital role in empowering our customers and shaping a safer, more sustainable mining industry.
What you’ll do
- Provide specialized support on Epiroc BEV systems, including Rig Control Systems (RCS) and automation.
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on underground BEV equipment across hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Carry out scheduled services, breakdown repairs, diagnostics, and failure analysis to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring failures, collaborating with Engineering teams on sustainable solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mine personnel and customers, acting as a technical ambassador for Epiroc.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and service reports, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage tools, vehicles, spare parts, and equipment in line with company protocols, with flexibility to travel and work standby as required.
What you’ll bring
- Grade 12 with a recognised trade test qualification (Electrical or Millwright).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of underground mining equipment, specifically drilling, bolting, loading, and hauling machinery.
- Experience with Epiroc equipment and advanced RCS troubleshooting is highly advantageous.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and automation systems.
