Purpose of the Role: The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Storekeeper will manage inventory levels and will ensure smooth warehouse operations within a VMI system.
*What is Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)? VMI is a supply chain strategy where the supplier monitors and replenishes stock at the customer’s location. Using real-time data, the vendor optimises inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and strengthening supplier-customer collaboration. To manage inventory and ensure smooth warehouse operations within the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) system
What will you would be doing?
- Receive & Inspect Goods: Check deliveries against orders.
- Inventory Management: Track stock levels and movements using software.
- Stock Organization: Unpack, label, and store items correctly.
- Order Fulfilment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery.
- Supplier Coordination: Work with suppliers and logistics for timely deliveries.
- Stock Monitoring: Conduct stock counts and fix discrepancies.
- Health & Safety: Follow warehouse safety rules.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the space clean and organized.
Skills and Qualifications you will need to have….
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory management background.
Technical Skills:
- Inventory management software proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Warehouse operations knowledge.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
Soft Skills:
- Organized and able to manage time well.
- Good communication and teamwork
- Physically fit to handle stock movement.
This role requires physical stamina, organisation, and attention to detail to ensure efficient inventory flow in a mine storeroom.
