Be a part of a growing team and help us develop new products and improve our manufacturing processes. We are seeking a CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for our machining operations while supporting production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with manufacturing engineers, machinists, quality assurance, and shop leads to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to specification. Although we highly value experience, we are interested in all candidates who have the desire to learn, grow, and help improve our manufacturing. Work Type: Onsite—This position will be based onsite at our Milwaukie, OR facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings: Dayshift; Monday to Friday 

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $30.00 and $45.00 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our commitment to fair pay based on skills, experience, and market standards.

Responsibilities:

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment.
• Develop machining strategies to improve cycle times, tool life, and product quality
• Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Verify program accuracy through simulation, prove-outs, and production validation.
• Generate and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and process documentation
• Work with manufacturing engineers and design engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) has been incorporated
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the production floor and assist with root cause analysis activities with multiple departments
• Support first-article inspections and production launches.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase throughput.
• Continuously improve the quality of manufacturing processes
• Maintain revision control of CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies

Knowledge/Education: 

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machining, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with CAM software such as MasterCAM, Fusion 360, Esprit, NX, SmartCAM, or similar platforms. Experience with MasterCAM preferred but not required. 
• Strong understanding of CNC machining principles
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and workholding methods

Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with G-code programming and machine setup 
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T 
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Experience programming 4-axis, 5-axis, mill-turn, and lathe CNC machines
• Familiarity with on-machine probe programming for setup/inspection is preferred but not required, with familiarity with auto comp a plus
• Experience working with redundant tooling macros and tool assembly libraries
• 3D CAD modeling experience and knowledge of Creo are a plus but not required
• Ability to self-direct work and take initiative
• Attention to detail is required
