Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Engineer at Epiroc!

This Manufacturing Engineer role is responsible for the delivery of process & mechanical innovation across multi-jurisdictions. You will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation of process improvements to deliver business transformation. 

 

Work Type: This position will be based onsite at our Milwaukie, OR facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promote continuous improvement as a core culture and lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives (kaizen, 5S, standard work, OEE, mistake‑proofing) to reduce waste, optimize assets, and improve material flow.
  • Lead and sustain 5S across the facility and serve as the primary site contact for Stanley Production System (SPS/4.0).
  • Identify, share, and implement best practices across North America Operations.
  • Drive CI actions across value streams to eliminate waste and meet performance targets.
  • Coach site leadership on achieving KPIs aligned with CI and site goals.
  • Integrate disconnected processes into cohesive value streams from the customer perspective.
  • Develop and use current/future value stream maps to define strategic projects and rolling 12‑month CI plans.
  • Partner with internal/external suppliers and customers to improve end‑to‑end enterprise processes.
  • Align production requirements with process capacity, priorities, and planning/replenishment tools; support engagement in S&OP.
  • Ensure consistent CI methodologies and standard work across locations.
  • Contribute to achieving productivity, inventory, quality, throughput, space, and safety goals.
  • Develop training plans to build Lean/Six Sigma capability across the workforce.
  • Support EHS objectives and implement best practices to exceed compliance standards.
  • Lead cell development, material‑flow improvements, elimination of powered industrial vehicles, and Lean/Sigma events; develop kaizen leaders; maintain visual management boards.
  • Conduct 5S audits and sustain improvements.
  • Engage suppliers in Kaizen events to support transition to Continuous‑Flow Manufacturing (CFM).
  • Support integration of new products and transfers into the facility using CFM techniques.

 

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $87,000 and $95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our commitment to fair pay based on skills, experience, and market standards.

 

Knowledge/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Engineering—Mechanical, industrial, or mechatronics; equivalent experience in industrial machinery manufacturing may be substituted for formal educational qualifications
  • Lean Certification with a Six Sigma Green or Black Belt a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years engineer experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Working knowledge in the use of Statistical Quality Control metrics preferred.
  • Proficiency in group and individual training techniques, including “train the trainer” tasks.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop valuable process maps.
  • Ability to effectively present information to varying groups of managers, executives, or other groups of associates.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
