Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Epiroc!

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads the engineering team at the production center, driving innovation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting product development, and ensuring all engineering solutions align with business objectives, quality standards, and cost targets. The Manager fosters a culture of technical excellence, problem-solving, and collaborative teamwork across the facility.

 

Work Type: Onsite - This position will be based onsite at our Milwaukie, OR facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.

 

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage all engineering functions, projects, and priorities within the production center.
  • Develop the engineering roadmap to support future capacity, technology, and business needs.
  • Mentor, coach, and support the growth and performance of engineering staff.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee process improvements, tooling design, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
  • Partner closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Safety teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes emphasize efficiency, safety, quality, and repeatability.

Technical & Project Responsibilities

  • Design, test, and implement manufacturing processes, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Support root cause analyses and corrective actions for technical and production issues.
  • Maintain and manage all engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, routings, and BOMs.
  • Participate in planning and execution of capital projects and technology investments.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and safety standards.
  • Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $105,000 and $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our commitment to fair pay based on skills, experience, and market standards.

 

Knowledge/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Several years of leadership experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and CI methodologies.
  • Demonstrated project management capability with excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.

 

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues 
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data
  • Ability to manage conflict and build cross‑functional relationships
  • Skilled at presenting reports, proposals, and project updates
