Join Our Team as a Contract Specialist at Epiroc!

The Contract Specialist is detail oriented and responsible for negotiating, establishing, and administering contractual arrangements for the sale of parts and services.

 

Work Type: Hybrid

 

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates or monitors contractor performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonableness of prices; reviews and interprets contract provisions to achieve cost efficiencies and reductions where feasible.
  • Serves as a primary liaison with contracting representatives to ensure compliance with contract specifications and resolution of problems and issues, as they arise; arbitrates claims or complaints occurring in performance of contracts.
  • Continually monitors and evaluates contractor performance against contract specifications and recommends appropriate remedial action as necessary.
  • May assist and/or provide input into the formulation, development, and/or revision of operating policies, procedures, and strategies for the organization, as appropriate.
  • Prepare contractual agreements using current research methods and a knowledge of a customer's needs and ability to fulfill its requirements
  • Collaborate with a legal team and Parts and Service Team
  • Ensure that the terms of contractual agreements written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with Company policies.
  • Assist customers to fulfill the terms of or to terminate contracts on mutually amicable terms
  • Review contract terms and conditions to verify that they are in compliance with company policies 
  • Clearly explain contract terminology to customers and other interested parties in simple, everyday language
  • Self-monitor progress according to the schedule of completion to submit drafts and documents in a timely manner
  • Proofread, edit, and fact-check legal documents for accuracy.
  • Prepare business cases and cost analysis reports
  • Perform special studies and carry out special assignments, as required by his/her supervisor.
  • Prepare financial reports, develop, and analyze KPI reports related to contracts. 
  • Comply with the organization’s people management, environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards.
  • Assist in providing/developing processes and training.
  • Assist in management and control of WIP
  • Assist in vacation planning, team coverage
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge/Education:

  • 2+ years of legal or paralegal experience, preferably working directly with contract law
  • Valid ‘G’ Driver’s License
  • A good working knowledge of BPCS(AS400), SAP, M3, E-Commerce (Shop On Line), DocMine, Microsoft Office and Outlook, BI, IQ.
  • Fluency in English and French (oral & written).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance or law
  • Knowledge of current and legally-binding contractual language and terminology
  • Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Good organization skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously
  • Creative cost analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of costing and pricing methodology.
  • Skill in the negotiation and establishment of contractual arrangements for goods and services.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Office, Business Intelligence, Outlook, SAP, AS400, M3….
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and suggest solutions for problems, customer complaints, and customer concerns
  • Clear adherence to company policies and procurement rules and regulations
  • Work cooperatively and positively with all departments in a spirit of teamwork to address problem areas and stimulate aftermarket sales.
  • Foster practices within the company that is consistent with its values and beliefs. Share knowledge with colleagues and actively work to raise the competence level of our aftermarket group. Strive for unity and trust within the group and expect to produce results before receiving rewards.

  • Manage in the best interest of the company, those assets entrusted to you, these may include but are not limited to, tools, computers, software, phones, faxes and products.

  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Mechanical background or experience working with parts and parts books.
  • Technical background, in equipment assembly, reading drawings or prints is a definite asset.
  • Ability to Travel if/as required

 

Expected compensation range: $95,000 - $100,000
