Join Our Team as a Transportation Specialist at Epiroc!

The role of the Transportation Specialist is to assist in the processes of transporting all shipments as required in a timely and cost-effective manner. They are responsible for maintaining efficient & cost-effective transportation solutions to our internal and external customers.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Support in reaching KPI’s in the following areas:
    • Transportation cost within the region
    • Transportation service and lead times
  • Assist/support in optimization of transportation for inbound and outbound deliveries to, from, and within the region
  • Surround local and regional, internal/external customers in areas of:
    • Transportation Sourcing
    • SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality)
    • Emissions reporting
    • Transportation Cost Breakdown and Analysis
    • Transportation Processes
    • Transportation Performance
    • Transportation provider evaluation and auditing
  • Fix and respond to service disruptions
  • Assist/support in local/regional operational and transactional trade compliance
  • Assist colleagues in shipment tracking and tracing
  • Assist/support for export/import documentation
  • Maintain internal systems and records as required
  • Shipment claims
  • Assist/support for expedited shipments and solutions
  • Freight invoice approval, coding, and processing as required
  • Assist/support in regional cost and service improvement projects
  • Support regional service level agreements
  • Assist/support regional transportation manager in meeting transportation budget goals, outcomes, and forecasting
  • Provide monthly progress and reporting to Regional Transportation Manager
  • Product return – local entity ships, but position provides assistance where needed
  • Ongoing training as required
  • Travel as required
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Education and Experience:

  • Previous Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation experience
  • Special Knowledge, Certification or Licenses in Supply Chain and/or Logistics as an asset
  • Skillful MS Office users (mainly Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Ability to give feedback as needed
  • Understanding of supply chain processes
  • Understanding of domestic and international transportation processes
  • Thorough understanding in logistics and distribution processes and compliance
  • Strong English communication skills both verbal and written
  • Additional Languages are preferred
  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-5 years of logistics or transportation experience

Expected compensation range: CAD $64,000 - CAD $75,000 based on salary, potential/historic bonuses for position, and any other wage compensation
