Your mission as a Parts Planner
Are you an experienced inventory or warehouse professional looking to bring your planning expertise to a fast-paced mining environment? Join Epiroc as a Parts Planner and play a central role in keeping our maintenance and repair operations supplied, stocked, and ready to perform. You'll take ownership of inventory planning, warehouse standards, and customer service ensuring the right parts are in the right place at the right time, while leading a small team and engaging directly with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. If you bring strong organisational skills, an eye for detail, and a customer-first approach to problem-solving, this is where your planning keeps production moving.
What you’ll do
- Supervise daily warehouse activities and lead a team of stores assistants and administrators to ensure work is completed on time and to standard.
- Monitor stock levels, recommend re-order parameters, and plan parts availability for scheduled maintenance and repair jobs to prevent stock-outs.
- Replenish stock based on system-generated demand forecasts and expedite replenishment orders to improve lead times and ensure timely supply.
- Generate weekly backorder reports and monthly stock movement reports, identifying slow-moving items and recommending corrective actions such as redistribution.
- Create and maintain bin locations, conduct regular bin audits, and participate in stock takes and cycle counts to identify discrepancies.
- Receive inbound deliveries, inspect stock condition, match deliveries against documentation, and update receipts and stock movements on the ERP system (M3).
- Serve as the point of contact for customer queries, generate quotations, place and expedite backorders, and invoice customer orders accurately and promptly.
- Maintain proper storage and housekeeping standards in line with Epiroc SHEQ policies, the Mine Health and Safety Act.
What you’ll bring
- Grade 12 / Matric (Essential), with a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Inventory Management preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in inventory or warehouse management, preferably within a mining or industrial environment.
- 1–2 years of customer service experience, including creating quotations, invoicing, and managing customer accounts.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BPCS, Info M3) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of SHEQ standards, 5S principles, and warehouse safety protocols.
- Valid driver's licence, medically fit for work, and authority to act as per prokura.
Who you are
- A natural team leader who can guide, motivate, and bring out the best in those around you.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong planning skills and an eye for accuracy.
- A clear communicator with a genuine customer-service orientation.
- Calm and capable under pressure, with the discipline to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- An analytical thinker who approaches challenges with structured problem-solving.
- Reliable, accountable, and committed to high standards of safety, housekeeping, and execution.
