Your Mission as a Product Specialist

As a Product Specialist, you will serve as the technical authority for Epiroc Trackless Mining Machines (TMMs), providing expert support across maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning and performance optimization. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who is passionate about technology, customer success and continuous improvement.
What you'll do
- Provide expert technical support on Epiroc trackless mining equipment, including commissioning, fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
- Perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, availability and operational performance.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis and machine audits, including RigScan assessments, while developing sustainable solutions to prevent recurring failures.
- Support breakdown response activities, major machine repairs, critical component planning and warranty claim processes to minimize customer downtime.
- Partner with customers, technicians and operational teams to identify opportunities for improving equipment performance, reliability and maintenance practices.
- Deliver technical guidance and training to operators, artisans and maintenance personnel to enhance equipment knowledge and operational effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain technical reports, equipment performance analyses, maintenance records and improvement recommendations while providing regular updates to customers and stakeholders.
- Promote and maintain compliance with Epiroc, customer and mining safety standards by actively participating in risk assessments, safety initiatives and environmental compliance activities.
What you'll bring
- Grade 12 / Matric and a Section 26D Trade Test qualification in Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Mechanic, Millwright, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related trade. An Engineering National N Diploma (N6) will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining mining or drilling equipment, with Epiroc equipment experience considered a strong advantage. Experience in a Master Technician or technical leadership capacity will be beneficial.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, with proven diagnostic, troubleshooting and repair capabilities on mining equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, service documentation and product catalogues to effectively support equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Knowledge of underground and surface mining environments, with exposure to CAN Bus, automation systems, rig control technologies or related mining technologies being advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with customers and technical teams.
- Valid driver's licence, medical fitness for mine-site work and willingness to work underground when required.
