Your mission as a Product Specialist

Are you passionate about driving technical excellence and customer satisfaction in the mining industry?

Join us as a Product Specialist in Mogalakwena, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting and optimizing Boomer, Boltec, and LHD equipment within Epiroc. In this role, you’ll ensure machines perform at their best, maximize availability, reduce operating costs, and promote safety and efficiency for our customers. Your expertise will strengthen communication, technical service, and competence, making a direct impact on customer success throughout the contract period.

 

 

What you’ll do

  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and pre-delivery service of underground diesel drilling, bolting, and hauling equipment
  • Provide on-site and workshop technical assistance, attend breakdown calls, and implement technical service bulletins or modifications
  • Ensure correct drilling tools, GET, pressure, and RCS settings are applied to optimize equipment performance and availability
  • Conduct machine audits, inspections, preventive maintenance, and assist in critical parts planning and workshop repairs
  • Train and evaluate operators and maintenance staff, share best practices, and support safe and efficient equipment use
  • Build strong customer relationships, address problems, provide regular status reports, and suggest improvements
  • Handle warranty claims, perform RigScan audits, monitor new technologies, and maintain accurate records of site visits and implementation processes

 

 

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance of mining/drilling equipment; experience with Epiroc equipment highly advantageous.
  • Grade 12 or Matric with Trade Test (Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Mechanic, Millwright, Electro-Mechanical Engineering), Engineering National N Diploma (N6) is advantageous.
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a master technician or leading hand advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the repair, assembly, rebuilding, and commissioning of machinery.

 

 

Who you are

  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with experience troubleshooting and repairing trackless mining equipment.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and product catalogues; familiar with underground and surface mining environments.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills; able to work independently when required.
  • Clear and effective communicator
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborating with other departments and individuals to achieve common goals.
